Program Name: Volunteer Work Abroad in Costa Rica – Costa Rica Projects

Volunteers will be involved in labor-intensive volunteer work abroad projects:
This volunteer abroad program with Global Volunteers is located in the Monteverde region of Costa Rica. All of Costa Rica volunteer work abroad projects require some to a lot of labor effort from volunteers in order to complete goals as it is aimed and constructing, building, restoring community centers, and remodeling buildings.
Each team of international volunteers works directly with the locals on community based projects. Some projects are relatively small and may be completed in one week, or months. Other projects can take as long as one year, and even a couple of years. Our community partner often times determine what assistance they need, thus we never know what your assignment might be in advance.
However, our past volunteers have worked on the following projects in the Monteverde area:
- Healthcare and community centers
- Build football/soccer field along with locker rooms
- Playgrounds, lunch rooms, teacher housing
- Building additions to schools
- Landscaping
- Gymnasium
- Walkways and sidewalks
Roll up your sleeves, have fun, volunteer abroad, and make a genuine contribution to the local communities in Costa Rica! This is a labor intensive volunteer work abroad project in Costa Rica that will focus a lot on building, construction, remodeling, and restoring community center in villages near Monteverde region in Costa Rica!
Global Volunteers established this volunteer work abroad program in Costa Rica in 1992 and has been bringing volunteers and resources to this community ever since. Global Volunteers works in partnership with local people around the world on long-term community service projects and this is one of them! Volunteers also have an opportunity to visit beautiful places and nature of Costa Rica, for instance The Arenal Volcano is one of such places.
