Program Name: Non-profit Assistance-Volunteer Abroad in Argentina with Fundacion AFOS
Overview: Volunteers Abroad are needed to help the citizens of Córdoba. Fundacion AFOS, in conjunction with its partners in Argentina, have created volunteer work abroad in hopes to develop surrounding communities, teach abraod disadvantaged children, and establish faith for the future of the Córdoba citizens. If you are searching for an opportunity to make a difference, Fundacion AFOS can assist you in finding the right volunteer abroad program for you.
Córdoba is located near the middle of Argentina, tucked in the foothills of Sierras Chicas. Here, volunteers abroad will find a city full of cultural events and entertainment: these include touring historical monuments, festivals, and football matches in Córdoba Stadium.
Several volunteer abroad programs are available through Fundacion AFOS; however, if you do not find one in your desired field, you can always ask about areas. We want to match you with the program that best utilizes your skills. Some volunteering abroad programs include: offering professional support to non-profit organizations, aiding the disabled, assisting underprivileged children, and organizing community expansion.
Description: If potential volunteers abroad are struggling to decide what field to choose, one might consider helping non-profit organizations in Argentina. Most of these groups do not have the proper structure that allows them to execute duties not related to their immediate assignments.
People of all educational and professional backgrounds are needed to assist non-profit organizations. Volunteers Abroad with training in Mass Communications can create a variety of media to advertise voluntary assistance programs and non-profits, including pamphlets, posters, websites, and composing press releases.
Some non-profit organizations and volunteer abroad programs need assistance in developing or improving administrative and management tools. Volunteers Abroad with prior experience in Management and Administration can help with this and fortify the social links between non-profits and public and private organizations.
Some social processes are never-ending; the recognition of social issues, the location where activities should be developed, and where action is truly needed. Volunteers for Project Management opportunities are needed and the ideal candidates will have a background in social work or the social sciences.
Volunteers Abroad with Human Resources experience are needed to construct plans on how to include collaborators and international volunteers into voluntary assistance programs and non-profits.
The Public Relations team is responsible of creating and maintaining the bonds between non-profits, volunteer work abroad programs, and the communities they desire to help. Potential international volunteers with backgrounds in political science or international relations may consider joining this group to construct those links, as well as search for and collect funds so non-profits and work abroad programs can continue to help those in need.
You are not limited to work in one of the areas described above; you may work in several of them if your prior experience fulfills their needs, or you may specify what field you would like to devote your time to. There are still other areas not mentioned above that need assistance; be sure to identify your field of experience on your application.
Basic Requirements: Argentina is a developing country where almost 40% of citizens cannot cover their basic needs, but may appear more advanced than other developing nations due to a high percentage of middle class citizens. Volunteers Abroad in Argentina should realize this glossy exterior does not mean there is nothing to do. The level of organization among voluntary assistance projects in Argentina is lacking, so there are opportunities for volunteers to take initiative and follow through with individual contributions as well.
Keep in mind that the acclimatization process for volunteers with intermediate Spanish generally takes 1-2 weeks and the induction to the project takes 2-3 weeks. Beginners in Spanish can expect the time for these processes to double. Therefore, the preferred minimum commitment of each volunteer is 15 days, and volunteers committing less than 2-3 weeks shouldn’t expect to accomplish much during their volunteer programs due to lack of time.
The success of your volunteer work abroad program is completely dependent upon you and what you want out of it. A proactive attitude and a willingness to help are essential to making your voluntary assistance program in Argentina a great success.
