Volunteer Abroad in South Africa – Teaching

Country: South Africa

Program type: Teaching

Program Name: Volunteer Abroad in South Africa – Teaching

There are three major volunteer abroad projects in South Africa:

Teaching in the primary school – South Africa is in need of general elementary educators as well as professionals. Lack of teachers leave students without any training in such important subjects as English, Math, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Business Administration.

Development of Preschool Program - Volunteers will participate in the creation of the early childhood education program. One of the integral steps in successful development of children is to have the right program and you will help create it!

Building repair – Volunteers are needed to help renovate the local community center. Some of the functions are painting walls, as well as ceiling restoration. Additionally, Volunteers skilled in micro-business management, marketing, project development and fundraising can help business leaders plan in the areas of catering, community gardening, brick making and baking.

Highlights: Home of 2010 World Cup will welcome you with open arms. This country is full of warm and interesting people. Its beauty is well known around the world; rich culture and traditions will make your volunteer abroad program full of memories. However, South Africa still has a lot of issues that need to be dealt with. Volunteers like you have an opportunity to contribute in the growth and development of this nation and its youth!

South Africa is a great place to be if you would like to combine your volunteer abroad trip with some traveling.  Its white beaches extend for miles, offering swimming, sailing, water-skiing, boardsailing and boating.  During your free time you can also visit Nelson Mandela Museum, going on a safari will be an unforgettable experience for anyone!
