Volunteer Abroad in Kenya - Teaching with El Ghana

Country: Kenya

Program type: Teaching

Program Name: Teaching Abroad - Volunteer Abroad in Kenya with El Ghana

Overview: Kenya, the “Jewel of East Africa,” is a costal country that attracts many tourists every year for a variety of reasons. Kenya has some of the best beaches, rainforests and wildlife found on the entire continent. Filled with adventure and new opportunities, Kenya will offer any intern or volunteer abroad participant the experience of a lifetime!

El Ghana works hard toward improving living and health conditions in Kenya, as well as the improvement of general quality of life in rural communities. If you feel like you could offer your talents and skills to help revitalize the health system in Kenya, then this volunteer abroad program can help you make a difference in people’s lives!

Teaching Abroad: Remote areas in Kenya are in dire need of teachers and educators. The shortage of teachers in elementary schools is so great that at times only one qualified teacher is handling multiple classes at once. English, as the second official language of Kenya, needs to be taught to children to fight a future of poverty. As native English speakers, El Ghana’s volunteer abroad participants fill the gap and help children with their verbal and writing skills and encourage children to read. If you have the passion to teach and help the future of our shared world, this volunteer abroad program is right for you!

Volunteer abroad students will engage in teaching abroad traditional subjects such as English, mathematics, geography and social studies, as well as additional topics including sex education, family planning, physical education and computer science. Since our volunteers act as support for current teachers and will only be teaching basic education, there is no need to be a certified teacher when you volunteer abroad. This means anyone who hopes to make a difference in a child’s fight against poverty can help! Volunteers abroad inspire kids to learn and encourage excitement about learning. Through El Ghana, you can help kids stay in school and learn to love education!
