Program Name: AIDS Assistance - Volunteer Abroad in Kenya with El Ghana
Overview: Kenya, the “Jewel of East Africa,” is a costal country that attracts many tourists every year for a variety of reasons. Kenya has some of the best beaches, rainforests and wildlife found on the entire continent. Filled with adventure and new opportunities, Kenya will offer any intern or volunteer abroad participant the experience of a lifetime!
El Ghana works hard toward improving living and health conditions in Kenya, as well as the improvement of general quality of life in rural communities. If you feel like you could offer your talents and skills to help revitalize the health system in Kenya, then this volunteer abroad program can help you make a difference in people’s lives!
HIV/AIDS Education Volunteer: AIDS is responsible for millions of deaths worldwide. The AIDS epidemic is especially widespread in Africa despite efforts to promote preventative measures against the transmission of HIV/AIDS. As a result of the epidemic, food production has decreased resulting in malnutrition and further poverty. Infected children are unable to attend school regularly and adults can’t productively contribute to the workforce. Anyone wishing to volunteer abroad must be aware of this serious problem and make an effort to stop the continuing spread of the disease.
It is extremely important for international volunteers to keep fighting this problem. Education about the disease and how to prevent transmission is especially important as we hope to slow the progress of this epidemic. El Ghana has set up a volunteer abroad program aimed at control and management of AIDS, as well as offering support and assistance to those already affected.
