Program Name: Volunteer Abroad in Ecuador - Childcare Assistance with Fundacion Bolivar

Description: This volunteer abroad program takes place at a school and a day care center in a low income are in Quito. International volunteers will work directly with kids. Volunteer abroad project in school is different from the project at a day care center, but similar in nature, as both institutions were founded to help indigenous population of Ecuador. Because a lot of indigenous people come to Quito in a search for work, their children stay abandoned because they don’t have appropriate housing to stay at. This is why these centers are being created – to provide shelter, support, and care. If you have a spirit to help others in you, this volunteer abroad program is right for you!

- Teaching English Abroad to children
- Organize events, help with school work, care and provide support for them
Keep in mind that this volunteer abroad program requires lots of direct interaction with children, this creates personal bonds, at it may be difficult for you to leave as well as children to say goodbye. It is also very important to show up at the project site everyday because children will be expecting you no matter what. They show love and care for volunteers just like volunteers abroad show them.
