Course Description:

  • Emphasis on Three Lesson plans types:Basic (Vocabulary), Skills based (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking), Communicative Grammar.
  • Observation of live teaching demonstrations by experienced English teacher before your own teaching practice for each lesson plan type. Includes: Lesson evaluation and in-class lesson planning.
  • Teaching input sessions by experienced staff with years of experience teaching in Italy: Effective Teaching Principles and Practices; Communicative Activities; Foreign Language I & II; Teaching of Vocabulary, Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking, Beginning Learners, Young Learners, Business English, Phonology I & II; Culture in the English Language Classroom; First and Second Language Acquisition (SLA); Methodologies in English Language Teaching; Classroom and Activity management; Testing (Theory and Practice); and the teaching of Grammar.
  • Language Analysis Includes: Word Classes, simple and complex sentences, quantity and measurement, comparatives and superlatives, time and verb tenses, aspects and conditionals, modals, active/passive voice, review of tense aspect system.
  • At least 7 hours of observed teaching practice; 6 hours of individual teaching practice; 1 hour of co-teaching practice.
